Terms &Amp; Conditions
These terms and conditions govern your use of the Door Engineers website and set out the basis on which we provide commercial door, shopfront and entrance engineering services in the United Kingdom.
Last updated: 6 June 2026
1. About These Terms
Please read these terms carefully before using this website or instructing us to carry out works. By using this website, submitting an enquiry, accepting a quotation or placing an order, you agree to these terms.
If you are entering into a contract on behalf of a business, organisation or other legal entity, you confirm that you have authority to bind that entity.
Where a separate written contract, purchase order, framework agreement or quotation expressly overrides these terms, the terms of that document will take precedence to the extent of any conflict.

3. Website Use
You may use this website for lawful business purposes only. You must not:
- use the website in any way that breaches applicable law or regulation;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, servers or data;
- introduce viruses, malware or other harmful material;
- copy, scrape or republish substantial parts of the website without our prior written consent;
- misrepresent your identity or affiliation when contacting us.
We may suspend or restrict access to the website for maintenance, security or operational reasons. Content on this website is provided for general information and does not constitute technical advice, a specification or a binding offer unless confirmed in writing.
4. Our Services
Door Engineers provides commercial door, shopfront, entrance and related glazing engineering services across the UK, including installation, repair, maintenance, emergency attendance and associated consultancy or surveying where agreed.
Services may include work on aluminium doors, steel doors, fire exit doors, automatic doors, frameless glass doors, shopfronts, internal glass partitions, door closers, floor springs and associated hardware or controls.
All services are subject to site survey, technical assessment, availability, access conditions and any limitations stated in a quotation or contract.
5. Quotations & Estimates
Quotations and estimates are based on information available at the time of issue. Unless expressly stated otherwise, quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue.
A quotation is not a contract. A contract is formed only when we confirm acceptance of your order in writing or commence works with your written or verbal instruction, whichever occurs first.
We reserve the right to revise pricing or scope where site conditions, specifications, access, statutory requirements, manufacturer constraints or client instructions differ materially from those assumed in the quotation.
6. Client Responsibilities
You agree to:
- provide accurate site, access and contact information;
- ensure safe access to the work area and notify us of known hazards, asbestos, live services or operational constraints;
- obtain any necessary landlord, tenant or principal contractor approvals;
- make timely decisions and approvals needed for progress;
- ensure payment terms are met in accordance with the agreed contract;
- maintain appropriate insurance for the premises and your own operations, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Delays caused by lack of access, incomplete information, third-party hold-ups or client-side approvals may result in rescheduling, standing time or additional costs.
7. Access, Working Hours & Site Conditions
Works will be carried out during agreed hours unless emergency attendance is requested. Out-of-hours, weekend or restricted-access attendance may incur additional charges where quoted or agreed.
We operate under safe systems of work and may suspend or stop work if we reasonably believe site conditions pose a risk to people, property or compliance with health and safety law.
8. Pricing & Payment
Prices are usually quoted exclusive of VAT unless stated otherwise. VAT will be charged at the prevailing rate where applicable.
Payment terms will be set out in your quotation, invoice or contract. Unless otherwise agreed, invoices are payable within 30 days of the invoice date.
We may require a deposit or stage payments for certain installation projects, specialist materials or long-lead items before ordering or commencing works.
If payment is late, we may suspend works, charge interest in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998, and recover reasonable debt recovery costs where permitted by law.
9. Cancellation, Postponement & Variations
If you cancel or postpone scheduled works after acceptance, we may charge reasonable costs already incurred, including labour allocation, travel, ordered materials and restocking charges where applicable.
Emergency call-outs requested and subsequently cancelled after dispatch may still be chargeable if attendance costs have been incurred.
Variations to agreed scope must be confirmed in writing. We are not obliged to carry out additional works outside the agreed scope without your approval of revised pricing and programme.
10. Materials, Manufacturers & Third-Party Products
Where products, components or systems are supplied by third-party manufacturers, their warranties, datasheets and installation requirements apply in addition to our workmanship obligations.
Lead times, product availability and manufacturer specification changes are outside our control and may affect delivery or completion dates.
11. Workmanship, Defects & Warranty
We will carry out services with reasonable skill and care in accordance with accepted industry standards and applicable regulations.
If you believe there is a defect in our workmanship, you must notify us in writing within a reasonable time and allow us a reasonable opportunity to inspect and, where appropriate, remedy the issue.
Any warranty period applicable to a specific project will be stated in your quotation or contract. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights where you are a consumer. Most of our clients are businesses contracting on commercial terms.
12. Limitation Of Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
Subject to the above, and to the extent permitted by law:
- we shall not be liable for loss of profit, loss of business, loss of revenue, loss of goodwill, loss of anticipated savings or any indirect or consequential loss;
- our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with any contract or these terms shall not exceed the total amount paid by you to us for the specific works giving rise to the claim in the 12 months preceding the event, or £50,000, whichever is lower, unless a different cap is agreed in writing;
- we are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, including supplier delay, site access issues, utility failures or actions of third parties.
You are responsible for maintaining appropriate business continuity and insurance arrangements for your premises and operations.
13. Health, Safety & Compliance
We work in accordance with applicable health and safety legislation and site-specific requirements communicated to us.
Where works relate to fire exit routes, automatic doors, safety sensors or access control, you remain responsible for overall building compliance and operational risk management unless a specific compliance service has been contracted separately in writing.
14. Intellectual Property
All website content, branding, text, images, layouts and materials are owned by or licensed to us and may not be copied or reused without our prior written permission.
Drawings, method statements or technical documents we provide remain our property unless otherwise agreed, and may be used only for the purpose of the relevant project.
15. Confidentiality
Each party will keep confidential any non-public commercial, technical or security-sensitive information received from the other, except where disclosure is required by law or necessary for performance of the services.
16. Force Majeure
We are not liable for delay or failure to perform obligations caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including severe weather, transport disruption, industrial action, epidemic, government action, utility failure or critical supplier failure. Affected obligations will be suspended for the duration of the event.
17. General
- Entire agreement: These terms, together with any accepted quotation or written contract, constitute the entire agreement relating to their subject matter, unless fraud or misrepresentation applies.
- Severability: If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in force.
- Assignment: We may subcontract or assign our rights and obligations with your reasonable consent, not to be unreasonably withheld. You may not assign your rights without our written consent.
- Third party rights: No person other than the parties to a contract has rights under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 to enforce these terms.
- Notices: Notices should be sent to the registered office or email addresses above unless alternative details are agreed in writing.
18. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These terms and any dispute or claim arising out of them or related services shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to our right to bring proceedings in any other appropriate jurisdiction.
